We Just Hit 80K Members + My 2026 Vision
What's coming in 2026 + a few thoughts on the journey so far.

Hey, it's Luke š
We just hit 80,000 members in The Rocket League Academy Free Discord! Absolutely insane.
I think a new year's update is long overdue, so here are some big content & community updates for 2026.
First Off, Thank You
Huge thank you to everyone who's found/joined our corner of the internet and our corner of RL recently. I can't name everyone individually, but seriously, this community is incredible and I appreciate every single one of you.
I'm talking about people who work on the team, students of our coaching, and the many of you who simply watch our free content! Whether you support us with your dollars or just with your eyeballs, thank you for being here. I appreciate you.
We've seen more growth in the last year than I did in the first four or five years of doing this. It's funny because we're seeing faster growth now, and I feel like I'm uploading less content or getting fewer views than I did before.
Life lesson: sticking at things for the long term is what's most important. Hard work, effort, and perseverance beat talent. I hope my YouTube journey can be a testament to that.
Getting On My Soapbox For A Second
On that note, allow me to get on my motivational speaker/soapbox for just a second.
I don't often take a moment to stop, reflect, or share this kind of thing, but when I do, I want it to be impactful, and I think this can be for you.
I'm certainly not the highest-ranked Rocket League player nor do I think I necessarily make the best videos. There are times when I doubt my skill as a YouTuber, as a Rocket League player, and even as a teacher/coach.
But I work damn hard to show up each and every day and week and continue to get better at what I do. I work very hard each day to become a better student of Rocket League, a player in the game, a coach, as well as a content creator. Of all the things I could attribute my success to (some privileges, some circumstance, some luck, some people around me, for sure) I think one of my personal greatest strengths is the fact that I just keep moving forward. I hope that can be an inspiration to you for whatever you're working towards.
I had a chat with a Rocket League pro a few months ago and he said, "Luke, I know you've been through a lot of things scaling content, doing your coaching business, but the thing I admire about you most is that, regardless of what people say, you just keep going."
That comment meant a lot to me because I don't think I'm perfect but I do think it's important to show up consistently. I think a lot of people, perhaps when faced with my same circumstances or setbacks, would not choose to continue.
I want my story to be inspiration for you, regardless of whether you're naturally good at Rocket League or naturally good at whatever it is that you're passionate about. I want you to know you can still chase your dreams and make it happen even if it isn't always easy. Because hard work and determination over the long term is a powerful thing.
The Reality: Highs and Lows
That said, there have been highs and lows of this content journey and business journey. There have been times where I've had to take one step back to take two steps forward, where I've lost sight of what I'm doing, where I've had to reevaluate my goals. There have been times where I've debated why I'm doing what I'm doing, doubted myself, and everything in between. I want to be real about that.
It's been a journey and I've done a lot of work on myself, on my personal development, on how I show up as a leader, to get where I am today and I'm still learning.
But you can't lose if you never quit and if you know me or you work with me, you know I am stubborn LOL. Jokes aside, I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the people around me. So this is not a solo effort. Not by any means.
I've made videos about this on my IRL channel @LukeHansenRL but I'm so proud and grateful to be where I am. I'm super grateful to have such an amazing team and community that support me. This couldn't be possible without them, or you, so thank you.
I care a lot about what we do. I love Rocket League. I love teaching. I also love the game of business and all that motivates me to continue doing everything we do at SpookyLuke.com.
Thank you for making my dreams and goals in life possible. I could not go after the big visions I have alone. I'm very grateful to be doing big sh*t with high integrity, high work ethic, down people.
2026 Content Updates
So here's the plan for 2026 and a couple other updates:
I have a lot of content in the works. We've had some roadblocks, but we're pushing through and have some exciting stuff coming your way:
ā
Road to SSL
ā
Educational Smurf games
ā
2026 Settings Guide
I also have gotten asks about if I'm going to do a 2026 Mechanics tier list and top mechanics for 2026, and the answer is absolutely yes. I talked with @WaytonPilkin and he doesn't have any plans to make a Meta Mechanics of 2026 currently so I asked him permission and he gave me the thumbs up to make a video in that style and give a nod to him. So you can look forward to that video as well.
The main limitation is we just need more editing power, so if you know any editors, hit me up. Looking for someone batteries-included, ready-to-go, and ideally with Rocket League experience. But we're pushing through regardless. We have so much content in the works, more than I can even discuss.
The main limitation right now is team. We're growing fast and so making new hires, welcoming new team members, training people up is all stuff that's taking time.
Clubhouse & Hiring Update
On that note some of you have been asking about hiring and joining the Rocket League Clubhouse community. For context, the Clubhouse community, which is my private improvement community with me and pros, is at/about to hit our 500 member limit. (497/500 last I checked).
We're about to hit 500 members, which is our cap, and that's why we were hiring for more team to help onboard new members. Once we bring on more team, then perhaps we can expand the member count, but I need to chat with the team more before I can confirm anything there.
We're growing faster than expected, which is good news, right? Good problems to have. Growing pains are expected. But I would lie if I didn't say I'm a little impatient when it comes to growth. I want to train new team. I want people to be up and running fast. I know we can help more people but sometimes slow is smooth and smooth is fast. This is something my business partner says.
So in the meantime, I appreciate your patience as we scale up the team with things like support tickets, questions, and other things like that while we're a little bit swamped and overwhelmed as far as customer support and new student enrollment goes.
Funnily enough, I even stepped in to start taking bootcamp enrollment calls again (That's our highest, 18+, 4-12 week coaching tier with pros). I'm helping enroll new students because the team's calendars are already booked out for days/weeks. So it's been fun to meet some of you guys who watch my content and who've joined the bootcamp recently.
Bottom line: We're all trying to pitch in on the team and support, but we're still a small team, so appreciate you guys having patience and supporting us as we scale. I'm so proud of everyone who's contributing, and thank you to all of you in the community as well. Thank you for supporting our mission to make improving at Rocket League simple and possible for everyone. Can't overstate that.
Freeplay Podcast Returns šļø
And last but not least, the Freeplay Podcast is returning soon!
For those who don't know, that's my podcast and it's back by popular demand. I have a bunch of exciting guests lined up and I'm really excited to share those with you. More on that soon.

In the meantime, have fun guessing who the first guest back is going to be. >:)
Freeplay Podcast will return later this week š
Thank you for supporting our mission to make improving at Rocket League simple and possible for everyone.
