We Made Something To Help You Learn Air Dribbles Faster

Feeling grateful this season. GIF is real life image of Luke tmrw at Thanksgiving. xD

The “tap jump” method and more. Explained in the sheet below.

Hey, it’s Luke (one day before Thanksgiving)

I want to share something special with you today and give you a sneak peek.

We’ve been working on something to help you learn air dribbling for the past 3 months, and since it’s the holiday season, I wanted you to have it early. But before I share, I need to explain a bit:

Why This Matters:

Air dribbles are one of the most important skills in Rocket League.
If you can control the ball in the air, you can

  • control the ball better

  • get out of tough spots

  • create scoring chances

  • beat defenders

  • and win more games

But most players try to learn air dribbles by guessing.

For example, did you know there are 3 phases to a rolling ball? Probably not…

We broke wall-to-air dribbles into 3 categories. We call them “phases.”

Understanding which phase you are in is important to get the best air dribble setup.

The real problem behind all of this is that most of the air dribble content out there sucks.

A pro will go into freeplay and say something like:

“All you have to do is get a good first touch,”

…and then they do a perfect air dribble
into a flip reset
into a Musty
into a double tap
like it’s nothing. 😭😭

Its kinda like this GIF:

wait for it… lol

That’s why we set out to build one clear roadmap, so you can learn air dribbles step by step, without skipping anything and without getting stuck because people don’t properly explain the finer details.

We broke it down into 3 foundational principles, 5 levels, and the full video spans:

  • Ground air dribbles

  • Wall to air dribbles

  • Back wall air dribbles

  • Cross map air dribbles

And everything in between.

For example, did you know your contact point with the ball should change based on your field location? We call this the clock method. Most players don't know this. 🤷‍♂️6-7

The main video is currently in production (we’re on version 9) and its currently about 100 minutes long, fully edited. 😮

I guess learning air dribbles from 0 to pro takes more than just a 10 minute Youtube guide. 😭😭

TLDR: My team and I have been working on this Rocket League project for several months, and I really think it can help you.

If you’ve ever tried to learn air dribbles, you know they are hard.
Most players don’t know where to start.
They don’t know the steps.
This fixes that.

What This Is

We made a simple roadmap that shows you how to learn air dribbles one step at a time. There are five levels total.

There are also 8 brand new supplementary videos that teach what we’re calling air dribbling “microskills.” Think of these skills as your foundation for air dribbling: the stuff most tutorials never talk about.

These video guides will be paired with the main video and appear inside different levels of the roadmap.

These video guides will also be completely free (as always) on the Rocket League Bootcamp Youtube channel. Some are already posted ;)

So far:

  • Level 1 is done.

  • Levels 2–5 are still being made.

  • Some links are broken.

  • Some videos aren’t added yet.

  • The main Youtube video is on V9.

Overall: the project is about 90% done.

If you want to see more behind the scenes, we document everything.

Point is: this guide will be the last and only guide you need to learn air dribbling all the way up to SSL.

Each level teaches only what you need next so you don’t feel lost.

We also made pictures, simple notes, and easy checkpoints. We want you to open the sheet and know exactly what to practice today.

The main steps are there, and you can start learning now.

And of course, like all of our content, it's 100% free.

At SpookyLuke.com we don’t gatekeep any tools, resources, videos, or trainings.
The only thing we sell is our private community, group classes, and one-on-one coaching.

Enjoy! :)

Now for some real talk for those of you who read this far.

If you’re just here for Air Dribbling or Rocket League tips, you can click off xD

But for those of you who follow my full YouTube journey, I want to talk about why I’m making videos like this now. I want to explain it the same way I told my team.

I love video games.
I love Rocket League.
I love learning and improving at video games like Rocket League.
And I love teaching what I’ve learned and helping other people.

But for a while, the way I made content made me feel dead inside.
It was just “spam uploads,” “get views,” “make the most money this month.”
And it was passion killing. (I didn’t even know how much it was hurting me until later)

It got to the point where I didn’t even want to play Rocket League. I didn’t want to record.
I didn’t want to make videos. I basically just felt tired all the time.

So earlier this year, we made a change.
We said, “Okay, from now on we’re making videos that make the most impact, not the most views”

We wanted to go as deep as possible on topics that would actually help you improve, regardless of how many views they might get.

To test this theory, we started with the hardest Rocket League mechanic we could think of (air roll left and air roll right). Sure enough, you guys loved it.

This is the video if you don’t know what I’m talking about:

Point is after the big “How To Air Roll Left Right” video blew up, I knew I wanted to make another guide like that.

I’ve always looked up to people like Wayton Pilkin, and when he made the Joyo documentary, it showed me the power of “quality over quantity.”

I’ve wanted to make stuff like this for years… but we didn’t have the team or the community size to pull it off before.

Now we do.

I’m in a very lucky position now because we have a team of pros, editors, and coaches.
We can do stuff at a level that I don’t think anybody else in the Rocket League space can.

So I don't think there's anybody better to do it than me and the team, and I'm honestly just very grateful for that.

The funny thing is… even though we stopped aiming for views, the channel is doing better than ever.
Shorts are up.
Videos are up.
Views are up.
People seem to enjoy this direction more.

And it’s all because we stopped chasing numbers.

Thank You

I’m feeling very grateful today (holiday season does that).

I’m grateful I get to teach Rocket League for a living. I’m grateful I get to make long guides again. I’m grateful I get to build things that help real players. And I’m grateful you’re here.

This change in my content, and honestly my whole mindset, wouldn’t be possible without you watching, supporting, and being part of this.

Hope this roadmap helps you.
More coming soon.

Talk soon,
Luke
